This post is inspired by the fact that I am listening to ” Make a Move by To Be Juliet’s Secret. I am feeling inspired to talk about taking chances. I am a risk-taker. One of my favorite TV series is Boston Legal and my favorite character Alan Shore say something like – “Our butt’s (cleaned up for my family-friendly readers) will be hanging out in the wind. Personally, I like a stiff breeze across my rosy cheeks.” Ha! That’s what taking a big risk feels like! I find it exhilarating taking risks! Though I am scared to do it at the same time.
There is a phrase I saw on a magnet once, what would you attempt if you knew you could not fail. Personally, I am on the horizon as debuting as a novelist. I am scared *&#%$^ you get the idea. I keep making excuses not to do it. I even let people tell me that I am not a writer, which sabotages the process even more. In the cleaned up words of Bonecrusher “Slap them people when they try you again.” (Explicit-Vainglourious) It’s a mature audience song which is why I am not posting the video. When I am feeling down. (For the humor of it) I remember thanks to Bone Crusher. All things are possible through G-d. “The hostile takeover is here”
Don’t let people tell you what you can and can’t do. Be a pioneer! Read a new genre, a new author, or tell that long-time best friend that you are in love with him/her, start that novel, publish it… The possibilities are endless!
Tell me about a risk you should take –
Well I hope you continue to write because this was a great read! Keep doing a great job and thanks for sharing :-)
Stay tuned! My first novel is coming out late summer early fall! I also review for indatle.com!
