Friday Coffee & Bookish Speaks – I might be a book hoarder.

Hey, ” everybody! I am drinking up a Colombian fresh roasted coffee. What are you drinking?

I have a phobia of being a hoarder. I grew up in a messy house, and I have seen how people can get laden down by stuff, I don’t want to face that same fate. I am not a collector of much with exception: of books and butterfly paraphernalia. Okay who am I kidding! I am a total girly girl, I love shoes, clothes, and make-up. I don’t consider that stuff. I consider those things necessities to my femininity. I digress.

I love books I have most of my natural born life. I started reading when I was 5 and never stopped! My husband and I live in a small place and I would say a good third of our house is books. We love books. Books are coming out of every crevice in our abode. I was just buzzing around the house the other day and I was picking up books from everywhere! I don’t have a lot of physical books.

I have a secret stash, on my kindle. I have hundreds of books, this is how I am able to conceal my book hoardiness. That wasn’t a real word but I just made it one, you are welcome. I hide hundreds of books in my kindle. I would like to say that Amazon encourages book hoarding with there ever-so-convenient one-click option.

I am pretty sure I am a book hoarder but thinks to my electronic book device I can hide it well.

How about you? Are you a book hoarder? Do you hide it like I do?

I feel ya. I grew up the same way. I remember, as a kid, you’d have to shovel a path to my bed from the door because my room was a disaster. My family isn’t one for minimal living either. However, I’ve been itching to downsize our stuff lately. Mainly because I, too, have a fear of crap accumulating that we don’t need until it suffocates me. I have been pretty good about getting rid of books. It pains me to donate them or gift them out but I just don’t have the space and if they aren’t ones that mean anything to me or that I don’t plan to read again, I really shouldn’t hold onto them. :\ I tried to do the same cleansing on my Kindle but I got a lil download happy on freebies when I got the device. So, there’s a lot on there to get rid of.

Cleaning out your kindle is no easy task. Even if you get it off your Kindle it’s still in your cloud. I try to clean that every once in a while.
