HE CAN TAKE THE HEAT.
Hot, hard-bodied Sixten Rapp is a former SEAL who’s raring to begin his brand-new civilian life. He and his Navy “brothers” start a security firm that offers the kind of services only a team of military-trained professionals can provide. But nothing prepared Six for his new client: an innocent woman on a mission to improve thousands of lives. . . unless someone takes hers first.
CAN SHE HANDLE THE FLAMES?
Dr. Louisa North knows time is against her as she tries to create a “miracle” medical treatment for a disease with no known cure, until she creates a sample so powerful that the wrong people want to use it as a chemical weapon. At first, Six is unwilling to accept Louisa as his client. But soon he realizes that the danger is real and that there’s much more to this plain-Jane scientist…including a burning passion between them that neither of them can resist. And now that an enemy is on Louisa’s trail, Six will do whatever it takes to protect her—or die trying.
Dr. Louisa North is dedicated to finding a cure for the disease that was responsible for taking her father’s life. She is committed to the laboratory and doesn’t like people too much. When a dangerous sample goes missing she gets concerned. Six is fresh out of the Navy Seals and starting a security company with his military buddies. Six starts a friendship with Louisa that is bound to turn into something more. Things get complicated when Louisa life is in danger and she must hire Six and his company to help her. Six tries to keep his distance while he does his duty but his attraction to Louisa is something he may not be able to fight.
In an Oyster Shell – A steamy romance with strong characters that will have you turning page after page.
The Pearls – I am starting to like these military romances. The characters come with interesting backgrounds. This usually makes for a suspenseful exciting read and this book was no exception. I liked the military background that set the tone for the whole book.
I talk about characters a lot but they really do make or break a book. The characters in this book were strong and well defined. I really like Louisa she was quirky and not your typical heroine. Her idiosyncrasies were what attracted Six to her and really made for an entertaining read.
The romance was steamy with a side of sweet. Six could look past Louisa’s awkwardness. It was one of the more intriguing romances I have read in a while. There were a lot of obstacles for the couple to overcome and that made for a great story.
The Sand – The transitions of POV’s were not distinctive and made for confusion at times.
