Beat The Heat Readathon

People! I am the worse Readathon person ever. I just “finished” another readathon.  So far I fall off the bandwagon every time. Except once. I did follow through once… *Shame*

The things is, it’s not that I stop reading, I just fall short of tracking my progress. You know what they say when first you don’t succeed… So here I go again. I think this time I am going to print the progress sheet out and write it by hand… maybe that will help hold me accountable. I don’t want to have to log on and track my progress! The definition of insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results, so let’s try something different.

My goal for the next two weeks will be 8 books. I liked how you just call the number of books you will read vs. planning out every book. I have commitment issues! I will say I would like to do an even 4 ARC’s and 4 out of my recently required books. Check out my new haul here. Let’s see how it works out.

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing you do this! I have such commitment issues with readathons and the like. I’ll breeze through 5+ books a week, but putting a number for me to read? Won’t be able to focus on a single book.

OMG! That’s me too! Ugh… I am trying to beat that… We will see. It doesn’t help that I am not super interested in the book I am reading right now. It’s an ARC that’s not that great… :/

I’m currently participating in a team reading challenge in my favourite Goodreads group (NBRC). I find that I get quite competitive, even though there’s no actual prize, and end up reading more than I thought I would. The fact that I need to tell my other team mates when I finish reading a book helps motivate to track everything. I use the shelves on Goodreads, and created a new one just for the challenge.

I would love to be on a team reading challenge group! If you hear of another one let me know. That sounds like fun!

Good luck! I find that during the school year when I am working, I have the same issue. I’ll forget to update and then fall really behind. I’m going to try to do better this year. I’m looking forward to my reading for the next two weeks though!

Me too I am doing good so far… Yet haven’t started tracking. I need to get on that. That is where I fall behind. I am going into my second book for the thon…
